People like to feel safe. Our habitual decisions show this to be true. For example, when walking down a street at night, one stays in the lighted area; it is common sense, as well as a way to provide extra protection. In our homes we install alarm systems and security gates. Why? It supposedly keeps the bad guys out, allowing us to feel an extra sense of security. We take these simple precautions, yet ironically we seem to overlook the fastest growing crime in the Unites States today- identity theft. What are you doing to protect yourself from this rapidly increasing problem?
Did you know that in the last year alone, Americans suffered a loss of $48 billion due to identity theft? On average, within a two day window of the loss of identity, victims lose $17,000! FTC reports that 9.9 million Americans are victims each year! It costs consumers 5 billion a year and businesses 48 billion each year! This crime is so simple to commit, it will most likely become one of the most profitable criminal activities in history. ARE YOU PROTECTED?
How easy is it to steal identity?
- Internet Exposure
- Friends and Family
- Dumpster Diving
- Stealing Mail
- Shoulder Surf
How the new identity is used:
- To Access Credit Card Accounts.
- Telephone or Utility Fraud.
- To Access Bank Accounts.
- Employment Related Fraud.
- To apply and create Loans.
- To Obtain Drivers License, Social Security Cards, Fraudulent Tax Returns or Government Benefits.
At the Szeszulski Agency, we have a plan that will protect you. A comprehensive program, which includes fraud and credit monitoring, resolution services, and stolen expense coverage. With secure ID from ANPAC, you will be able to monitor your credit to help prevent an identity loss. You will be signing up for an online subscription to fraud and credit monitoring services.
Our enhancements to your stolen identity coverage include:
-Zero deductible
for identity theft losses.
-Increased limits of $50,000 per occurrence/$100,000 annual aggregate.
- New income replacement coverage of up to $200 per day for 25 days or $5,000 for lost wages when having to take time to work to rectify records.
- If you are a member of CA$HBACK from ANPAC, claims paid under this for this endorsement will not affect your CA$HBACH reward.
- In addition, your coverage now also includes comprehensive resolution services should you actually become a victim. In this case, an advocate would be assigned to you to help you through the resolution process.
You can receive all of this coverage for a mere $90 a year. When the chances of becoming a victim are so high, it would be wise to protect your name and financial future.

Insuring Horse and Farm Property
posted by Lanna Gamble.
When I was a little girl, I can remember watching my dad drive the tractor and cut the fields for hay. This was bitter sweet for me because it meant I would have to help stack hay, not something I really enjoyed doing, and it meant my dad would move the big round hay bails to meticulously construct a giant maze for my sisters and me to play in. I remember hiding in the hay mazes and playing on top of the hay bails until the sun went down. Memories like this made me fall in love with Oklahoma and make me different from most people in the United States. I am sure many of you who own ranches and farms have similar experiences. These memories make the sweat and dedication to the farms and ranches worth while. The memories we have made and the memories to come are the backbone of what this state stands for.
These wonderful experiences would not be possible if it were not for our land; that is why you want to make sure your land and assets are protected. It is the job of your insurance agent to be an advocate for you, to analyze every possible situation, and make sure you are properly covered, keeping your personal coverage and the coverages for your farm and ranches separate.
What would you do in the following scenarios?
-You have horses on your land and one gets out and is hit by a car. The driver of the car dies and goes after your farm.
- You are traveling with a trailer and are carrying not only your horses, but horses with other owners. You have a wreck and the horses die, as well as people involved in the wreck. You were held responsible.
- You own a barn and stable horses. The barn catches on fire and the horses die in your care.
- You allow people to ride horses on your ranch. A student is kicked in the head by a horse and has acquired monumental hospital bills and the family wants you to pay them.
The possible scenarios are endless. The question is what would you do? Have you asked your insurance company if horses are covered, because while many people falsely assume that these situations are covered by standard liability insurance, the fact remains that many liability policies contain a provision which excludes the important coverages. If you are not properly covered and something happens with your horses and cows, this opens a window for law suits. If you do not separate your personal insurance from your farm or ranch insurance, there is potential for claim on your homes, land, cars, investments, retirements, etc. What would you do if you lost all you had worked for?
The Szeszulski Agency offers several options for farm and ranch owners. One of the cornerstones of the agency's coverage is the SFP10 policy. It provides effective yet flexible property and casualty coverage relevant to horse operations of varying size and scope. A number of coverage options ensures you're getting just the right amount of coverage you want. Major SFP10 Coverages include:
- Residence and Household Contents
- Building and Building Contents
- Farm Personal Property
- Scheduled Personal Property
- Liability
Another coverage offered by the Szeszulski Agency is the Commercial General Liability, or CGL. It is designed to cover many situations involving horses. It can help protect you from claims brought against you as a result of your horse operation. CGL coverage applies to the specialized needs of operations involving horse drawn carriages, sleighs, hay rides, pony rides, and more.
An optional coverage on our SFP10 policy, Care, Custody and Control, provides protection in the even that someone else's animal dies or suffers an injury while in your care, and you are held legally responsible.
Life is unpredictable; therefore it is important to protect the way of life you love, as well as your family. Meet with us or someone like us to make sure you and your farm or ranch are properly covered. Again, while most assume their horses are, they are not. Examine the possible situations and be proactive before it is too late. Let us be an advocate for you.

Uninsured Motorists Populate the Streets: Are you protected?
The general mentality of an individual is "it will never happen to me". We think we are invincible, when in reality you never know what will happen. That is why it is our responsibility to be pro-active and protect ourselves, especially in our cars. Extensive research shows that approximately 30% of drivers are uninsured. Note this statistic is for uninsured motorists only, not including the under insured (motorists who carry the state minimum for insurance, meaning even if they have the minimum, it will probably not cover all of the expenses).
Have you ever wondered what would happen if you were involved in a wreck with a driver who was in an uninsured vehicle? If the wreck was their fault, then you, as the victim, would automatically be placed in a colossal predicament. . Senator Patrick Anderson is proposing a bill which amends the seizing of vehicles when drivers cannot show they possess valid insurance. The reasoning for his decision is because the number of uninsured motorists is continually growing. There were nearly 6,420,000 auto accidents in the United States in 2005. The financial cost of these crashes is more than 230 Billion dollars. 2.9 million people were injured and 42,636 people killed. About 115 people die every day in vehicle crashes in the United States -- one death every 13 minutes. The chances are about 14 in 100 that if an insured driver is injured in an auto accident, an uninsured driver caused the crash, according to the Insurance Research Council.
Is it unfair to seize the vehicles of the uninsured? Lives are ruined everyday because of uninsured motorists. Watch this video; you may be shocked! When watching the video, please understand this is an uninsured problem, not an ethnic dilemma. Every race has uninsured motorists; bottom line, the problem needs to be fixed. Here are two different scenarios, allowing you to see what protecting yourself against uninsured motorists can do.
The first scenario involves two drivers: a victim who has liability and comp / collision, and a driver who has no insurance. Because the victim has comp and collision, their car can be fixed. However, they have to pay the deductible for a wreck that was NOT THEIR FAULT! The deductible will be the least of their worries. What will this victim do if they are injured? The medical bills could add up, they may not be capable of working, and as a result it, it could force bankruptcy. Unjust situations like this can change the course of someone's life forever, which is why we recommend you meet with us, or someone like us to discuss your coverage.
In the second scenario, the victim has the same coverage plus UMBI(Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury). After being hit by the uninsured motorist, the victim will have UMBI to cover loss of wages, medical in addition to health, and pain and suffering. UMBI is the way for you to protect yourself from irresponsible people. It will save you financially! It is imperative to know and understand the coverages you have. You should not blindly have or not have. Figure out what is right for you and make sure you are covered.
What Does UMBI Cover?
- medical
- loss of income
- pain and suffering
- also substitutes for gaps between the coverage you hold at work and personally
- UMBI will pay in the absence of coverage
Have you discussed UMBI with your agent? Have you seriously considered the consequences of being underinsured? The Szeszulski Agency urges you to call us or someone like us. It benefits you and your family when you meet with an agent and become capable of making informed and educated decisions. It is important to have someone watching out for you, whether it is us or someone like us.
